Natchitoches, La. - Louisiana Tech received strong pitching performances from starter Marla Pinkston and reliever Lindsey Meadows Wednesday night as the Lady Techsters downed Northwestern State 3-1 at The Demon Diamond.

Pinkston pitched five innings of four-hit ball, allowing only one unearned run, zero walks while striking out four to pick up her sixth win of the season. Meadows, appearing in her first game of the year, recorded the save, retiring all six batters she faced as Tech improved to 10-11 on the young year.

Tech jumped on the scoreboard first in the top of the second, scoring one run on a two-out Northwestern State error that allowed Bridget Broadnax, who led the inning off with a single, to score.

NSU (10-9) tied the game up in its half of the second, scoring an unearned run on a throwing error by the Lady Techsters. However, that would be all the offense the Demons could muster.

Tech scored the go-ahead runs in the top of the fourth inning on an RBI-single by Alison White and on a run-scoring wild pitch by Northwestern State's Loni Rasberry. Broadnax led Tech's seven-hit attack with a pair of singles.

The Lady Techsters return to action March 10 at Centenary.
