HONOLULU- Hawaii?s Stephen Bryant tossed eight solid innings as Hawaii defeated Louisiana Tech 9-1 in game two of a Western Athletic Conference set on Saturday night at Les Murakami Stadium.

Bryan (5-2) allowed just six hits and one run while fanning five Bulldog hitters. He also did not issue any walks.

The Bulldogs (12-28, 3-11 WAC) scored their only run of the contest in the sixth inning when Mims Boyce singled and came around to score on a ground out by Jeff Walker.

Clayton Meyer (4-4) suffered the loss for Tech. The junior allowed seven runs on 13 hits in six innings of work.

The defeat is the ninth in a row for Louisiana Tech.

Hawaii (22-12, 7-4 WAC) scored first with two runs in the third inning before breaking the game open with two more in the fifth followed by a three spot in the sixth inning for the Rainbows.

The Rainbows produced 15 hits to just six his for Tech.

Greg Kish and Isaac Omura led Hawaii with three hits each.

The Bulldogs had six players with one hit each as Kyle Spangle extended his hitting streak to 12 games.

The Bulldogs will try to salvage game three of the series on Sunday at 6 p.m. (CDT)
