Series History: LA Tech leads 24-20
The Bulldogs return to Miami for the first time since 2024, which was the last time the Panthers won a series over Tech. The 'Dogs took the first two games of the series in 2025 before the series finale was cancelled due to a series of weather delays eventually conflicting with FIU's travel schedule.
The Bulldogs are 8-12 all-time when playing the Panthers in Miami, and have taken six of the last 11 road contests over FIU.
Prior to Tech's 7-6 road win in 2024, the 'Dogs last win at FIU goes back to 2021 when Tech and the Panthers split two games after the final two in the four-game series were cancelled. The 'Dogs have not taken a weekend series at FIU since 2019 when they won the first two of the three-game slate.
The Bulldogs have never swept the Panthers when playing at FIU Baseball Stadium, however Tech did record consecutive seasons with home sweeps against FIU during 2022 and 2023.
FIU enters the weekend in last place in the CUSA standings with just one win in nine league contests thus far. Their lone conference victory was a 12-11 win in Game 2 over Sam Houston on March 21, overcoming a four-run deficit in the ninth and walking it off with a grand slam to force a rubber match.
FIU endured a four-game losing stretch that was snapped on Tuesday, March 31 against Florida Atlantic. The Panthers hosted the Owls at home and took a comfortable 9-1 victory for their ninth win of the season.
