RUSTON ? Three San Diego State pitchers scattered five hits as the Aztecs downed Louisiana Tech 6-0 Tuesday afternoon at San Diego State Field in non-conference softball action.

San Diego State (35-19) scored two runs in the second and three more in the fourth to jump out to a 5-0 lead and never look back as Louisiana Tech (25-29) lost for the third time in the last five games.

Tech starter Marla Pinkston (15-16) picked up the loss, allowing seven hits, two runs, one earned, and one walk in three innings of work. Freshman Kristin Blodgette came on in relief for Pinkston in the fourth and allowed four runs, three earned, on three hits and three walks in two innings of work. Senior Sabra Warner pitched one scoreless inning for the Lady Techsters.

Junior centerfielder Amber Miles led Tech offensively, collecting two hits in three at bats, while recording her team- and Western Athletic Conference-leading 26th steal of the season. Sophomore Mary Cohn, freshman Jessica Elson and freshman Christine Echols each added on hit for the Lady Techsters.

San Diego State, which is looking for his second straight Mountain West Conference title, was led by center fielder Janna Kovensky with three hits and second baseman Joann Figueroa with two hits.

Head coach Sarah Dawson?s Tech squad returns to action Thursday when the Lady Techsters face No. 14 ranked Fresno State in a double header starting at 8 p.m.
