Louisiana Tech forward Paul Millsap was named the Western Athletic Conference men's basketball Player of the Week Monday for the week of Jan. 17-23.

Millsap, a sophomore from Grambling, La., scored 25 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and added three blocked shots in 40 minutes of play as Tech defeated SMU 58-57 last Saturday in the only game of the week for the Bulldogs.

The 6-8, 243-pounder went 10-of-15 from the field and 5-of-7 from the free-throw line to record his 11th double-double of the season and 32nd of his career.

It was Millsap's second career WAC Player of the Week award and the first for a Louisiana Tech Bulldog this season. Millsap, who has twice this season been named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week, won his only other WAC Player of the Week award last season for the week of Jan. 19-25, 2004.
