Louisiana Tech sophomore forward Paul Millsap has been named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week the LSWA announced Thursday.

Millsap (6-8. 243) averaged 16.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in Tech's two games during the week. Millsap led the Bulldogs to a victory at Tulsa to open Western Athletic Conference play with 19 points and 11 rebounds and then added 14 points and eight boards in a loss at Rice.

It was the second time this season Millsap has been named the LSWA Player of the Week as he also earned the honor on Dec. 15 for his efforts at Jackson State and at Texas-San Antonio.

Southeastern Louisiana's Nakeya Downing was named as the LSWA Women's Player of the Week.
