WACO, Texas - Only two outs away from one of the biggest wins in recent history, Louisiana Tech saw Baylor designated player Tessa Lynam hit her sixth home run of the season over the left field wall, giving the No. 11 ranked Bears a dramatic 6-5 come-from-behind win Friday afternoon at the Compass Bank Invitational.

Tech (8-9) entered the bottom of the seventh inning leading Baylor 5-3. Techster starting pitcher Lindsey Meadows retired the first batter of the inning via strikeout before giving up back to back singles to Harmony Schwethelm and Kylie Conroy, setting the stage for Lynam's heroics.

Head coach Sarah Dawson's squad built a 5-1 lead through the first four innings of the contest. Tech took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning on an RBI double by first baseman Carly White, scoring Meadows who had reached on a fielding error by the Bears.

Baylor (18-2) answered with a single run in its half of the third inning on an RBI single by Conroy to tie the game up at 1-1.

However, the Lady Techsters exploded for four runs in the top of the fourth inning. After Rochelle Sandberg and Regan Clark started the inning off with consecutive singles, sophomore Ashley Cameron drove home one run with a double to left center. Two batters later, Meadows drew a bases loaded walk to make the score 3-1. A throwing error by the Bears then plated two more Tech runs and ended the four-run frame.

The score remained 5-1 until the bottom of the sixth inning when Baylor's Chelsi Lake hit her fourth home run of the season - a two-run shot - over the right centerfield wall, closing the gap to 5-3 and setting up the stage for the three-run seventh inning.

Meadows (5-6) picked up the loss for Tech, allowing six runs on 11 hits and one walk while striking out five in 6.1 innings of action.

Tech returns to action Saturday morning against No. 1 ranked Arizona (11-0) at 9:30 a.m.
