HONOLULU, Hawaii - Three Louisiana Tech errors led to four unearned runs as Hawaii downed the Lady Techters 9-1 in the first game of a Western Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon.

Denise Dahlberg and Denise Gould led Hawaii with three hits each as the Rainbow Wahine (28-20, 9-5 WAC) pounded out 13 hits for the contest.

Hawaii took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI single by Denise Gould. The game remained 1-0 until the bottom of the fourth inning when Hawaii struck for four unearned runs on three hits and three Lady Techster errors.

Tech (18-37, 2-6) cut the deficit to 5-1 in the top of the fifth inning when Amber Miles scored on an RBI double by second baseman Rochelle Sandberg. Miles and Sandberg led Tech offensively with two hits each with Miles registering her 23rd stolen base of the season.

Hawaii put the game away with four more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Kristin Rupp (2-7) picked up the loss for Tech, allowing nine runs - five earned - on 12 hits and two walks.

Shannon Tabion (9-4) picked up the win for Hawaii, allowing only one run on eight hits and two walks in the complete-game victory.
