Louisiana Tech (18-43, 2-10 WAC) led 3-2 after four innings of play before Fresno State tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the fifth courtesy of a two-out RBI double by third baseman Leticia Pacheco.

Southern also provided the biggest hit of the game with a solo home run leading off the top of the seventh inning, giving the Bulldogs a 4-3 lead.

One batter later, Pacheco struck again with an RBI single, upping the advantage to 5-3. Southern (22-3) retired the final three batters in order, handing Tech its 14th consecutive loss.
