Techsters End Season with Losses

SAN JOSE, Calif. ? Louisiana Tech?s season came to an end Saturday as the Lady Techsters fell twice to San Jose State 10-3 and 8-0 at SJSU Field.
Tech ends the season 18-49, including 2-16 in Western Athletic Conference play while San Jose State completes their season with a mark of 36-25, 10-8 in league play.
The Lady Techsters scored two runs in the top of the first inning of game No.1 off of San Jose State starter Carol Forbes. After loading the bases, both Lindsey Meadows and Sandy Carroll were hit by pitches, registering RBIs and giving the Lady Techsters an early 2-0 lead.
That advantage was short-lived as San Jose State responded by scoring three runs in the first, two in the second, three more in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Tech added its final run of the game in the top of the fifth inning on an RBI double by Ashley Cameron, driving home Amber Miles who singled.
Cameron (three hits, one RBI) led Tech offensively while Brittany Stanley (two hits), Amber Miles (one hit, one run) and Christine Echols (one hit) each contributed.
Courtney Lewis (four hits, four runs) and Elisa Barrios (four hits, two runs) led San Jose State.
Meadows (13-27) picked up the loss, allowing 10 runs ? seven earned ? on 12 hits and two walks in four innings of action.
Forbes (24-19) earned the win, allowing three runs ? two earned ? on seven hits in the complete-game performance.
San Jose State jumped on Tech in the second game of the day, scoring four runs in both the first and second innings as the game was called after five innings due to the eight-run rule.
Miles (two hits, one stolen base), Cameron (two hits), Stanley (one hit) and Echols (one hit) led Tech in the contest while Lewis (two hits), Jana Arde (two hits, two RBI), Carlie Hill (two hits, three RBI) and Lindsey Allen (two hits, three RBI) led San Jose State.
Kristin Rupp (2-10) took the loss, allowing eight runs ? seven earned ? on eight hits in 1.2 innings of action. Forbes picked up her second win of the day and third of the series in the complete-game shutout.
