Hamilton, Laird Named to All-WAC Team

DENVER- Ryan Hamilton and Gil Laird were named to the All-Western Athletic Conference second team on Tuesday as the all-league teams were announced.

Hamilton hit .339 on the season with eight home runs and 37 RBIs overall. The junior was even better in league play with a .341 mark along with seven of his eight home runs.

Hamilton hit in 22-straight games at one point in the season and collected in hits in all but two WAC games. The junior also posted hits in 38 of the last 40 games on the season for the Bulldogs.

Hamilton finished the season sixth in the league in hitting.

Laird completed his Bulldogs career with a .271 average along with seven home runs and 20 RBIs. The Houston native posted a .278 average in league games.

The league?s coaches vote on the all-WAC teams.
