RUSTON – Right-handed pitcher Declan Dahl has been named Conference USA's Pitcher of the Week, per the league office's release Monday afternoon. It is his second weekly honor to receive from the conference after being named CUSA's Pitcher of the Week on March 16.
 
It is the third weekly honor to be received by a Bulldog with Trey Hawsey's Hitter of the Week recognition being the first for LA Tech this year on February 23.
 
Dahl is coming off an exceptional performance on the mound to open the series against Middle Tennessee, earning his fifth win of the season. The Azle, Texas native tied his Bulldog career high of seven innings while fanning eight batters, the second-straight start and the fourth time this season to strike out at least eight on the mound.
 
He scattered four hits and a walk while allowing just one unearned run, marking his third start this season to end his line with no earned runs allowed. Dahl's 57 strikeouts rank the fourth-most in CUSA and is one of seven pitchers in the conference with five wins.
 
Dahl's season ERA of 3.75 and opposing batting average of .240 are also among the top 10 in the CUSA statistical rankings, along with sitting in a tie for the third-most innings pitched at 50 1/3 thus far.
 
The Bulldogs host the Little Rock Trojans on Tuesday, April 14 to close out a four-game homestand. First pitch at the Love Shack is set for 6 p.m. CT.
