Bulldogs Ranked No. 39 in RPI After Stunning Mississippi State
After winning five-consecutive games and shocking No. 3 nationally-ranked Mississippi State 13-12 last night, Louisiana Tech is now ranked 39th in the college baseball Ratings Power Index, according to www.warrennolan.com.
The website also has Tech (16-12) with the 24th best strength of schedule in the nation, while the Western Athletic Conference is ranked the eighth toughest conference.
Already this season, the Bulldogs have wins over ranked Southern Mississippi, Baylor and Mississippi State - the lastest in dramatic fashion. The Bulldogs were down 12-6 to Mississippi State with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, when Tech rattled off eight hits and one walk to score seven runs for the win.
Tech hosts UL-Lafayette in a single game today before its WAC home-opening series with Nevada this weekend, beginning Friday at 6 p.m. Live stats may be followed for the game tonight at www.latechsports.com, while both live stats and radio will be available for the Nevada series.
