SAN JOSE, Calif. ? Freshman Krissi Oliver scattered nine hits and three walks over seven innings to lead Louisiana Tech to a 4-1 win over San Jose State in the second game of a Western Athletic Conference doubleheader Friday at SJSU Field.

Tech (9-22, 1-7 WAC) dropped game one of the doubleheader 4-0.

After San Jose State (14-20, 3-4 WAC) took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, Oliver shut the Spartans down over the remaining six innings of play to pick her up third win of the season.

Tech scored three runs in the top of the third inning on only two hits to take a 3-1 lead. Freshman Emma Barnes led the frame off with an infield single followed by Danielle Sheridan reaching on a fielders? choice.

Rochelle Sandberg then drove Barnes home with a single tying the game at 1-1 , with both Sandberg and Sheridan advancing a base on the throw. Sheridan then scored on a wild pitch before Regan Clark drove Sandberg home with a sacrifice fly to centerfield.

The Techsters added an insurance run in the top of the fifth inning as Sandberg singled home Barnes making the score 4-1.

Oliver allowed only two hits over the final three innings. Sandberg and Barnes led Tech?s seven-hit attack with two hits each while Sheridan, Clark and Carly White each added one hit.

In the first game of the day, San Jose State pitcher Courtney Lewis pitched a complete-game one-hitter as the Spartans prevailed 4-0.

Christine Echols? one-out double to left field in the top of the second inning was the only hit of the contest for the Techsters.

San Jose State scored one run in the fifth and three more in the sixth for the win.

Senior Kristin Rupp (1-5) picked up the loss, allowing four runs ? two earned ? on nine hits and one walk in 6.0 innings of work.

The series finale is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday.
