Tech?s Sneed Named State POWRUSTON ? Louisiana Tech senior forward
JoKeirra Sneed was named the Women?s Player of the Week by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association, it was announced on Thursday.
Sneed averaged 16.0 points, 14.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 blocks per game in Louisiana Tech's two games during the week. The Belle Glade, Fla., native registered double doubles in both games while shooting 50 percent (12-24) from the field for the week.
She scored 15 points and grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds in a 81-60 loss to top-ranked Tennessee while also registering four steals and three blocks against the Lady Vols. Sneed then followed up that performance with a 17-point, 10-rebound effort in an 82-60 win over Stephen F. Austin.
UL-Monroe?s Tony Hooper earned the men?s player of the week award.
The LSWA selects a weekly Player of the Week for men's and women's basketball from a list of nominations submitted by the state schools.
