RUSTON ? And the honors keep coming for Louisiana Tech signee Adrienne Johnson.

Just a few days after earning the Louisiana Class 3A state MVP award, Johnson was tabbed the Gatorade Louisiana Girls Basketball Player of the Year Wednesday.

The Franklin High School prep star becomes a candidate to be named the Gatorade National Girls Player of the Year which will be released later this month.

Johnson averaged 25.5 points, 13.4 rebounds, 5.4 blocks, 5.3 steals and 4.4 assists per game while leading Franklin to a 25-5 mark and the semifinals of the Louisiana Class 3A state tournament in Hammond.

She is a three-time member of the Louisiana Class 3A all-state team.
