Tech Softball Falls at Centenary

SHREVEPORT, La. ? Louisiana Tech mustered only four hits as the Lady Techsters fell 4-2 at Centenary on Tuesday.

The game was scoreless until the top of the third inning when Tech (13-12) struck first. With two outs Emma Barnes reached on an error and advanced to second before freshman shortstop Amberly Waits drove her home with a run-scoring single to center field.

Centenary (12-10) answered right back in the bottom of the frame plating three runs on four hits off Louisiana Tech starter Krissi Oliver.

The Lady Techsters cut the deficit to 3-2 in the top of the fourth inning as Ashley Cameron blasted her fourth home run of the season, a solo shot over the left field wall.

The Ladies added one run in the bottom of the sixth inning on a leadoff solo home run, making the score 4-2.

Kelsey Greeson came on in relief for Centenary in the seventh inning and earned her third save of the year, striking out the side.

Waits led Tech with two hits while Cameron and Kylie Bassett each added one hit.

Oliver (8-8) picked up the loss, allowing four earned runs on seven hits in 6.0 innings of action.

Tech returns to action March 13 when the Lady Techsters travel to Southeastern Louisiana for a doubleheader.
