LOGAN ? Utah State completed a three-game sweep of Louisiana Tech by defeating the Lady Techsters 12-4 and 6-5 in a softball doubleheader Saturday.

The Aggies (14-23, 4-5 WAC) won the first game of the day in easy fashion, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the third inning and pulling away in the five inning affair.

Tech starter Mandi Bertsch (4-7) picked up the loss, allowing eight runs ? three earned ? on nine hits and two walks in 2.0 innings of action. Courtney Avery came on in relief, allowing four earned runs on four hits and one walk in 2.2 innings of work.

Rochelle Sandberg and Christine Echols led Tech with two hits each and one RBI while Kylie Bassett added her third home run of the season.

In the second game of the day, Tech (20-27, 3-9 WAC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead through two and a half innings before Utah State scored three runs in the bottom of the third and two more in the fourth.

Utah State led 6-3 heading into the top of the seventh before the Lady Techsters mounted a comeback, plating two runs before the game ended with the tying run on first base.

Sandberg and Amberly Waits each registered two hits while Waits also recorded two steals.

Krissi Oliver (15-18) was tagged with the loss, allowing six runs ? three earned ? on seven hits and five walks in 6.0 innings of action.

Tech returns to action Tuesday when they face UL-Monroe on the road.
