Q & A with
Keshia Warren6-1, Junior, Forward
Lewisville, Texas (Tyler JC)
Keshia Warren inked with the Lady Techsters during the late signing period after leading Tyler Junior College the past two years. Warren, who played high school basketball at Lewisville High School in Texas, helped lead Tyler to a 22-8 mark and the national tournament.
Q: What is one thing about yourself that most people don?t know.
A: I played the piano when I was younger.
Q: Why did you decide to sign with Louisiana Tech?
A: Louisiana Tech uses the quarter system and that allows me to complete more hours towards my major. Since my major requires a lot of sciences, I?m going to need all the hours possible. I also want to minor in Spanish and this system allows me to do that more easily. I also chose Tech because its close to home and I loved all the coaches.
Q: In your opinion, what does it mean to be a Lady Techster?
A: It means that I have to keep my game up, on and off the court (play basketball as hard as I can and keep my grades in order).
Q: What has been the hardest transition to college so far?
A: Definitely the weightlifting. I?m not use to that kind of intensity in the weight room so that is the hardest adjustment.
Q: As a player, what is your no. 1 goal for yourself this year?
A: To do my best but not be as hard on myself.
Q: If you could have dinner with any three people in history, who would they be?
A: Jesus, Michael Jordan, Martin Luther King Jr.
Q: In pickup games this summer, which one of your teammates do you think is the toughest to guard?
A: Jo Sneed
Q: What was your most memorable moment playing high school basketball?
A: My most memorable moment was at the Duncanville Tournament because I was proud of the way I played. I also made the all-tournament team which was cool because I got a trophy and a really cool shirt.
Q: How would you describe yourself?
A: Goofy, nice, smart, caring and just all-around awesome? -
Q: What is your best subject in school?
A: math
Q: What jersey number will you wear this year and why?
A: 21 because that?s my favorite number.
Q: What is the strongest aspect of your game?
A: The strongest aspect of my game is my hustle and I set good screens for my teammates.
Q: What would your dream job be and why?
A: I want to become a pediatrician with my own practice. I?ve wanted to be a doctor since elementary school so I can help little kids.
