RUSTON - Louisiana Tech will host San Jose State Saturday night at the Thomas Assembly Center in a 7 p.m. tipoff in Western Athletic Conference action.
The contest is also Senior Night as Louisiana Tech's three seniors - JoKeirra Sneed, Nastassja Levingston and April Williams - will all be recognized at halftime.
Tech (11-13, 5-6) is coming off a 65-55 road loss at New Mexico State Thursday night while San Jose State (2-21, 1-9) fell 61-60 at home to Utah State.
Lady Techster head coach Chris Long said he expects his basketball team to rebound from Thursday's loss and come out with a lot of energy.
"Watching San Jose State on film, the thing that really stands out is they are athletic and they play hard," Long said. "They have guards who like to get to the basket and one of the best three-point shooters in Natalie White.
"We are going to have to stop dribble penetration because that is what they like to do. We have to understand who we are guarding and what their capabilities are. We need to move the basketball and execute offensively. If we do that, I think we will have some success."
Sneed continues to be a dominating factor and one of the leading candidates for WAC player of the year as the 6-foot-2-inch forward registered her WAC-leading 18th double double of the year with 18 points and 17 rebounds against New Mexico State.
Post teammate Shanavia Dowdell also continues to have a stellar sophomore campaign, averaging 12.0 points and 7.7 rebounds a game. Dowdell scored 19 points against the Aggies.
San Jose State has struggled all season long despite the stellar play of White, who is averaging 16.0 points a game and has hit 43 three-pointers on the year. White's status for Saturday's game is questionable after missing the last two games due to suspension.
San Jose State's two wins this year have come against Cal-State Northridge (59-55) on Nov. 30 and against Idaho (53-46) on Jan. 24.
Saturday's game is also Think Pink Night at the Thomas Assembly Center as everyone is encouraged to wear pink in order to raise awareness of breast cancer.
