RUSTON, La. - Saturday's contest between the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters and San Jose State will be part of the Think Pink Initiative in coordination with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game at 7 p.m. and help raise awareness for breast cancer.
Tech will be working with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Northeast Louisiana Affiliate for the event. Representatives from Susan G. Komen will have a table inside the Thomas Assembly Center with information and pamphlets on breast cancer. Donations will also be taken throughout the evening to raise money for breast cancer research.
All fans wearing pink and donate $1 can register to win $100 donated by Susan G. Komen. Pink shirts will also be given away by spirit groups and Tech staff. Players, coaches and officials will be showing their support with pink socks, wristbands and shoelaces.
Don't miss the chance to be part of a week-long effort by women's basketball coaches and teams across the country to raise awareness for breast cancer. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at the TAC. It will also be senior night for the Lady Techsters as this year's three senior members will be honored.
