Bulldogs Prepare for Vandals

RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech (3-18; 0-9) will remain in the Thomas Assembly Center Saturday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. to take on the Idaho Vandals (5-16; 2-8 WAC) in the second of three straight home games.

The Bulldogs lost a tough game Thursday night to Boise State by a score of 73-61 after amassing an eight-point first half lead before the Broncos shooting overcame Tech in the second half. Freshman Orren Tims had a career night for the Bulldogs finishing with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Most recently, Idaho lost on the road to New Mexico State 88-49. Tech and Idaho have already met once this season in Moscow, Idaho, where the Vandals got the best of the Bulldogs for the first time since Idaho joined the WAC in the 2005-06 season by a final score of 85-78. The Bulldogs have a 4-1 advantage in the all-time series record books.

Last season, Tech managed to escape with a 73-72 win over Idaho on the road Jan. 20, 2007, before taking a 68-59 win on Valentine's Day the following month.

Sophomore Kyle Gibson leads Tech scorers at 15.6 points per game, while Idaho is led by Jordan Brooks at 12.5 points per game.

Tip off is set for 7 p.m. and can be heard live on ESPN 97.7 FM locally. The game will also be streamed over the internet at www.espn977.com and at www.latechtv.com.
