RUSTON -- After a big win over Hawaii Thursday night, Louisiana Tech (5-23; 2-13 WAC) will return to action for senior night and the regular season finale Saturday, March 8, at 7 p.m. to take on the San Jose State Spartans (12-17; 4-11 WAC) in the Thomas Assembly Center.

Senior JJ Marshall will be honored as Tech's lone senior this season. Marshall has seen significant playing time this season averaging 2.3 points after seeing action in 19 games.

The Bulldogs bested the Warriors 69-62 after trailing by one at halftime. Freshman Dwayne Lathan led the charge with 23 points and 12 rebounds for the first double-double of his career. Sophomore Kyle Gibson, who earned NABC Second-Team All-District 8 honors, added 20 points in Tech's win.

San Jose State lost its fourth consecutive game Thursday to New Mexico State 88-65 in Las Cruces, N.M. The Spartans's last victory was against Utah State on Feb. 18 in the Events Center by a final score of 70-67.

Since Tech joined the WAC in the 2001-02 season, the Bulldogs and the Spartans have squared off 14 times with Tech commanding a 10-4 all-time series lead.

Last season, Tech and San Jose State splits games with the home team winning both times. In the 2007 WAC opener for the Bulldogs, Tech easily handled the Spartans with a 92-56 home win. SJSU would get revenge later in the year with a 53-50 win in the Events Center.

Sophomore Kyle Gibson leads Tech scorers at 16.2 points per game, while Justin Graham leads Spartan scorers at 11.7 points per game.
