RUSTON -- The Louisiana Tech Lady Techster soccer team will look to continue their momentum from a current three-game winning streak when they travel to face Centenary Friday night at 7 p.m.
Tech (7-2) is coming off a 7-0 win over Southern in Baton Rouge on Tuesday and an impressive showing this past weekend at the Troy Trojan Soccer Classic where the Lady Techsters defeated Alabama A&M 5-1 and Troy 1-0.
Head coach Kevin Sherry's team continues to boast a balanced offensive attack that ranks No. 1 in the Western Athletic Conference in numerous statistical categories including shots, goals, points and assists.
Kristen Sevier (7 goals, 3 assists, 17 points), Olivia Lukasewich (5 goals, 3 assists, 13 points) and Rachel King (4 goals, 4 assists, 12 points) have all scored in double figures for the season. The trio rank in the top four in the WAC in points.
Defensively, the Lady Techsters have recorded six shutouts this season which also leads the Western Athletic Conference behind the strong play of goalies Jean Bernard and Cat Buchanan and the stellar defensive team play spearheaded by Amy Wolsted, Brittany Davis and Co.
Buchanan leads the WAC in goals against average at 0.57, allowing only three goals in seven games (473 minutes) while Bernard ranks third at 0.80 allowing only three goals in five games.
Centenary (2-7) picked up just its second win of the season Wednesday, defeating Nicholls State 4-2 to snap a seven-game losing streak.
Tech returns home this weekend to host Mississippi Valley State Sunday at 2 p.m. at Joe Aillet Stadium.
