RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech midfielder Kat McCullough has been named the Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 22-28.
The junior from Coppell, Texas, led the Lady Techsters to a 2-0-1 mark during the week as she totaled five points in three games, scoring at least one point in every contest.
McCullough scored the game-winning goal in Tech's 1-0 win over Mississippi Valley State Sunday in the 79th minute of the contest. She also registered an assist on Tech's only goal in a 1-1 tie against Centenary on Friday night in Shreveport.
She began the week with two assists in a 7-0 rout over Southern.
McCullough finished the week with three assists and one goal, while breaking the Tech career assist record with eight. It's the first player of the week award for McCullough and the third time this year a Lady Techster has earned the accolade.
Fresno State defender Selena Gill was named the WAC Defensive Player of the Week.
