Coach Jackson Releases 2009-10 Tech Bowling Schedule

Oct. 7, 2009

RUSTON, La. - Head Coach Shawn Jackson released the 2009-10 Louisiana Tech women's bowling schedule that includes seven road tournaments as well as hosting the Louisiana Tech Invitational on Jan. 30.

The squad will open up the season at the Bossier City Classic in Shreveport, La. on Oct. 17-18 before their first big test of the season at the Greater Ozark Invitational in Springfield, Mo.

"Central Missouri has been national runner-up twice, it's going to be a stacked field," Jackson said. "It will really give us a chance to see if our freshmen can handle the pressure and adversity."

The Lady Techsters will compete at the Lady Tiger Classic in Houston, Texas on Nov. 14-15 and the Capital City Classic in Jackson, Miss. on Dec. 4-6. to finish out the 2009 year.

On Jan. 15-17, Tech will compete in the Mid-Winter Classic in Little Rock, Ark before hosting the Louisiana Tech Invitational on Jan. 30 at Lambright Bowling Alley. Then they will travel to the Southern Invitational in Baton Rouge, La. on Feb. 6-7 and conclude the season at the Music City Classic on March 12-14 in Smyrna, Tenn.

LA Tech returns five from last year's team that had upset wins over No. 3 Nebraska and No. 5 Arkansas State.

"Our five returners are getting better, so I think that if they continue to work the way that they have been, they can be pretty good," Jackson said. "But practice and competition are two different things. I'm anxious to get the freshmen out there and see what they do in competition."
