BOISE, Idaho -- Senior Krissi Oliver recorded a complete-game performance to lead Louisiana Tech to a 3-0 victory over Boise State in game one of the Western Athletic Conference softball doubleheader at Mountain Cove Softball Field Saturday afternoon.

Oliver (7-9) recorded her second straight complete-game shutout, scattering five hits striking out three over 7.0 innings of work against the Broncos. The Glendale, Arizona native blanked Alcorn State in a 3-0 victory in her last outing Monday night.

"Krissi did a great job of keeping her composure all day, even with runners in scoring position," said Tech head coach Sarah Dawson. "She gave our defense an opportunity to make plays. She made good pitches in tough situations. She showed a lot of maturity in the game. We got the three runs early, and she made them stand up."

Oliver outdueled Boise State hurler Allie Crump (6-5), who took the loss despite pitching well. Crump allowed only three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six.

Tech (17-14, 2-2 WAC) plated all three runs in the top of the third inning. Shortstop Claire Gibson led the frame off with a double to right field and then moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by third baseman Summer Young.

After second baseman Heather Doiron drew a one-out walk, Emma Barnes followed with a single to left field, plating Gibson and giving the Lady Techsters a 1-0 advantage. Tech scored its second run with Barnes stole second base and Doiron scored on an error by the Broncos on the play.

Danielle Sheridan then followed with an RBI double to left center, scoring Barnes with the third run of the inning.

Oliver made the runs stand up only allowing the Broncos (17-12, 3-1 WAC) to put more than one runner on base in one inning -- the sixth. A one-out error by Doiron allowed Lexi Straton to reach first base and then Ashley Viers-Gordillo followed with a single up the middle to put runners on first and second.

Pinch hitter Kelly Sweeney then registered a two-out single to left field to load the bases before Oliver induced a ground out by Laurel Wyatt to end the threat.

Sheridan and Gibson led Tech with two hits each while Barnes recorded one.
