LA Tech will try to continue their undefeated season as they play at Sam Houston State on Friday at 7 p.m. before playing their final non-conference game against Houston Baptist at home on Sunday at 1 p.m.
About Louisiana Tech
LA Tech head coach Kevin Sherry is 95-48-20 overall in his ninth year. At Louisiana Tech, Sherry is 22-19-6 in his third season. Tech continues its best start in school history with a 10-0-0 record which is the best mark in the country. Their 47 goals scored lead the NCAA and are outscoring their opponents 47-5. This will be just their third road game of the season. Tech is 3-0-0 away from Ruston and 7-0-0 at home.
Sophomore Rachel King is second in the NCAA in scoring with 11 goals. The O'Fallon, Mo. native also leads the Western Athletic Conference in points (24), points per game (2.40) and goals per game (1.10). Sophomore goal keeper Cat Buchanan is leading the conference in goals against average (0.58), shutouts (5) and shutouts per game (0.56).
The Lady Techsters lead the WAC in goals (47), goals per game (4.70), assists (39), assists per game (3.90), goals allowed (5), goals against average (0.49) and shutouts (0.60).
Scouting Sam Houston State
The Bearkats (2-5-1) are coming off a loss at No. 13 Texas A&M 4-0. They won their lone home game 6-0 over Texas Southern. Sam Houston State and Lady Techsters have played familiar opponents in Prairie View A&M (6-0 win) and Arkansas State (1-1 tie). This is the first ever meeting between Tech and Sam Houston State.
Scouting Houston Baptist
The Huskies (2-4-1) were shutout in their last contest at Texas State 2-0. The Huskies defeated Sam Houston State earlier this season 2-0 and lost to WAC opponent Utah State 5-1. They are winless in three tries on the road (0-2-1). The game against Tech is number three of seven straight road games for the Huskies.

McCullough Named WAC Offensive Player of the Week
Kat McCullough scored two goals in Tech's 4-1 win at Mississippi Valley State and recorded the game winning assists in a 1-0 win over UALR to be named the WAC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 21.
