Ashaolu, Rolle Recognized by NetScouts Basketball

RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech men's basketball players Olu Ashaolu and Magnum Rolle each earned player of the week honors by NetScouts Basketball on Saturday.

Rolle, a senior forward, was named the Player of the Week after averaging 20.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. The Freeport, Bahamas native scored 29 at Houston, 11 against Nevada and 21 against Utah State. Rolle recorded two double-doubles with 10 rebounds against Houston and 14 against Utah State.

Ashaolu, a sophomore forward, was named the International Player of the Week after averaging 14.0 points and 12.3 rebounds in Louisiana Tech's wins over Houston, Nevada and Utah State. The Toronto, Ontario, Canada native grabbed 21 rebounds the win at Houston, the most by a Bulldog since 2002. He scored 17 at Houston, 14 against Nevada and 11 against Utah State. Ashaolu had 12 rebounds against Nevada for his second double-double of the week.

The Bulldogs are 15-2 (3-0, WAC) and play at Boise State on Monday at 8 p.m. CT before facing Fresno State at home on Thursday at 8 p.m.
