DENVER - Louisiana Tech's Albert Fullwood was named the Western Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week after recording a season best time in the 200m at the LSU Alumni Gold track meet Saturday.
Fullwood, a senior from Shreveport, La. (C. E. Byrd HS), ran a season-best and WAC-leading 200-meter time of 20.93 seconds at the LSU Alumni Gold in Baton Rouge, La. on Saturday. Fullwood's time is the fastest in the conference by over a half second in the event. The senior also ran the opening leg of the 4x100m relay team that ran 40.34, which tops the WAC so far this season.
Fullwood will be part of Louisiana Tech's split-squad group that is competing at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa this weekend. The other half of the split squad will be heading to Philadelphia to compete in the Penn Relays.
