RUSTON, La. - The Louisiana Tech men's basketball team (1-0) will travel to face future Western Athletic Conference opponent UT-Arlington (1-0) Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Texas Hall.

Last season, the Bulldogs led for the whole game as they downed the Mavericks 62-61 in Ruston.

The win gave Tech eight straight victories against UTA and a 22-7 series lead with the last loss occurring in 1983 in Texas Hall (81-76).

The game can be heard on the LA Tech Sports Network on KXKZ 107.5 FM with the action being called by Kyle Roberts and Jack Thigpen beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m. Live stats of the game will also be available through GameTracker that can be accessed on the GameDay Central page.

By defeating Mississippi College 92-70 on Sunday at home in the season opener, the Bulldogs extended their non-conference winning streak in the Thomas Assembly Center to 19 games, one win away from tying the program record.

Senior guard Trevor Gaskins (Alpharetta, Ga.) led Tech with 17 points as four Bulldogs scored in double-figures. Freshman guard Kenneth Smith (St. Petersburg, Fla.) had a game-high eight assists and fellow classmate forward Michale Kyser (Lancaster, Texas) blocked three shots.

The Mavericks defeated East Texas Baptist on Monday 99-64 with four players reaching double-figures in points paced by 19 from Bo Ingram. Kevin Butler and LaMarcus Reed grabbed nine rebounds apiece and Stuart Lagerson had three blocked shots.

UTA was picked to finish third in the Southland Conference's West Division by the coaches and sports information directors.
