RUSTON - Following its two wins over Idaho and Boise State this past week, Louisiana Tech saw its total points increase in the USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches Poll as the Lady Techsters earned eight points this week.
Tech, which boasts an eight-game winning streak and a 15-5 record overall, is currently in 30th place in this week's poll after earning only three points last w week.
The Lady Techsters have posted some impressive wins this year, including victories over Georgia, Tulane and Fresno State and currently own an RPI of 28 through games of Jan. 31. Tech hasn't lost since falling to 24th ranked Marquette by eight on Dec. 30,
The Lady Techsters also picked up three points in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday.
Teresa Weatherspoon and Co. will host a huge Western Athletic Conference contest this Saturday night when the Lady Techsters welcome Fresno State to the Thomas Assembly Center at 7 p.m.
Numerous promotions surround the game, including special ticket prices. The first 300 fans at the Tech Ticket Booth window at 4 p.m. on Saturday will get free tickets while all other tickets in the arena are ONLY $5.
The pregame activities begin at 4:30 p.m. when carnival rides open in the TAC parking lot courtesy of Johnson's Rides and Concessions. Some of the rides include a ferris wheel, a tilt-a-world and miniature roller coaster along with many others. All rides are free with a ticket to the game.
Free tailgating courtesy of area businesses and Tech Athletics begins at 5:30 p.m. with plenty of free food while supplies last.
The Louisiana Purchase Zoo will bring a petting zoo exhibit with various animals such as alligators, monkeys, chinchillas, tortoises and more. The exhibit will open at 6 p.m.
Fans will also have a number of opportunities to win free airline tickets and cash prizes throughout the game.
