RUSTON - Louisiana Tech picked up 17 points in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll after the Lady Techsters won a pair of Western Athletic Conference games against New Mexico State.
LA Tech, winners of 11 straight games, increased its point total from 11 last week and currently ranks 30th in the country in the poll.
The Lady Techsters are 18-5 overall, 10-0 in WAC play after its 88-79 win at New Mexico State on Saturday night. In the latest collegerpi.com rankings, LA Tech is an RPI of 26 and a strength of schedule of 58.
Teresa Weatherspoon and Co. are led by All-American candidate Adrienne Johnson, who ranks in the top 10 in the country in scoring at 22.1 points per game.
Weatherspoon, Johnson and the Lady Techsters host Hawaii Thursday night at 7 p.m. and San Jose State Saturday at 6 p.m. Tech fans are encouraged to wear pink to Thursday's game in conjunction with the WBCA's Think Pink campaign running through the month of February.
