RUSTON - Louisiana Tech will host San Jose State Saturday night at 6 p.m. at the Thomas Assembly Center in Western Athletic Conference action as the Lady Techsters look to extend their 12-game winning streak.

The game is the second game of a basketball doubleheader as the Bulldogs host Georgia State at 3 p.m.

Teresa Weatherspoon and Co. have not tasted defeat since falling 83-75 to 21st ranked Marquette on Dec. 30 in the championship game of the Fun and Sun Classic hosted by Florida International in Miami.

Since then Louisiana Tech (19-5, 11-0) has reeled off 12 straight wins, including 11 in WAC play as the Lady Techsters currently hold a two-game lead over Fresno State in the conference standings. During the 12-game winning streak, the Lady Techsters are averaging 81 points per game while holding their opponents to only 65.

The Lady Techsters are currently receiving votes in both the AP and the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Polls with LA Tech ranking 30th in both polls. Tech's RPI is 30th in the country and its strength of schedule is ranked in the top 60.

Adrienne Johnson (22.1 ppg, 9.3 rpg), Whitney Jones (10.8 ppg, 33 three-pointers), Tarkeisha Wysinger-Mackey (10.7 ppg, 6.0 rpg), Jasmine Bendolph (7.9 ppg, 4.1 apg) and Shantale Bramble-Donaldson (7.8 ppg, 5.3 rpg) form a formidable starting five that has become tougher and tougher to slow down in the past weeks.

San Jose State (2-22, 2-9) was one of the early victims in the winning streak as LA Tech opened the WAC season with a 69-34 win over the Spartans on Jan. 6. In that contest, Tech led only 27-18 at the half before outscoring SJSU 42-16 in the second half.

The Spartans are coming off a 54-29 loss at New Mexico State Thursday night and have struggled scoring all season, averaging only 46.8 points per game. San Jose State has failed to score 50 points in 13 games this year, including each of the past four.

Tech leads the all-time series against San Jose State 19-0.

During halftime of Saturday's game, the Lady Techsters players and managers will be joined by members of their families during a special halftime ceremony.

The contest can be heard on the LA Tech Sports Network on ESPN 97.7 FM with the pregame show beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tech fans can also access the audio and video stream of the game through a subscription to LA Tech All-Access at www.latechsports.com.
