RUSTON - A pair of Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters signees led El Dorado High School to the Arkansas Class 6A state title with a 48-41 victory over Parkview Saturday night Summit Arena in Hot Springs.
Wildcat seniors Whitney Frazier and Kanedria Andrews helped El Dorado cap an impressive season that saw the team post a 28-3 mark while winning the school's first ever state title in girl's basketball.
Frazier, a 6-foot forward, scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds while Andrews, a 5-foot-10 guard, added six points and nine boards.
"Whitney did what she has been doing all year which is dominate the game in all aspects," said El Dorado High School coach Steven Harshaw. "She did it offensively, defensively and on the boards.
"Kanedria played excellent defense and took care of the basketball. She ran our offense against a lot of pressure and got the basketball to the people who needed it."
During El Dorado's four games in the state tournament, Frazier averaged over 28 points and 11 rebounds a game to earn the Most Valuable Player Award in the state tournament.
Another Lady Techster signee led her team to the Arkansas Class 2A state title game as Parker's Chapel forward Savanna Langston scored 18 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked six shots in the championship contest.
However, Langston's impressive performance wasn't quite enough as England defeated Parker's Chapel 31-29 in the game.
With Parker's Chapel trailing in the fourth, back-to-back buckets by Langston tied the game at 29-29 with 5:10 left in the quarter. However, England hit the final bucket of the game for the win.
Langston helped Parker's Chapel to a 30-4 record.
Future Techster Courtney Hayes led Centennial High School in Las Vegas to the state title a few weeks ago while Benton guard Laura Owens helped her team to the state quarterfinals.
