RUSTON - Louisiana Tech tennis looks to continue its good fortune against in-state teams as it hosts Nicholls State on Sunday at 10 a.m.
The Lady Techsters are 5-4 overall and 3-1 against teams from Louisiana. Their latest victim was Grambling State which Tech defeated 7-0 on Wednesday.
Tech is led by Elne Barnard in No. 1 singles who is 4-5 overall. She teams up with Anna Zurek to form Tech's No. 1 doubles team with a 6-3 record.
Nicholls State is 5-5 on the season and broke a five-match losing streak with a 4-3 win over Southeastern Louisiana. The Colonels are led by Florina Nosca who holds an 8-3 record overall, 7-3 in No. 1 singles. She pairs up with Natalia Zamora to form their No. 1 doubles team with a 7-2 record.
In last season's meeting, the Colonels defeated the Lady Techsters 6-1 in Thibodaux with Alena Erofeyeva (No. 3 singles) capturing Tech's only win.
Following the match with Nicholls State, LA Tech will host Grambling State again on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Louisiana Tech Tennis Complex.
