RUSTON - For the second time this season, the Louisiana Tech tennis team swept Grambling State as it won 7-0 Tuesday at the Louisiana Tech Tennis Complex.
The Lady Techsters were dominant over the Lady Tigers as they dropped just one game during the match. It is the third straight match that Tech won 7-0 as it swept GSU on March 23 and Nicholls State on March 27.
Elne Barnard (No. 1), Vivian ten Dolle (No. 2), Melanie Urvoy (No. 3) and Maartje de Wit (No. 4) each won 6-0, 6-0 in their singles matches.
In No. 5 singles, Alena Erofeyeva was on her way to joining that group. However, at 6-0, 5-0 against GSU's April Johnson, she dropped one game before winning 6-1.
Due to the Lady Tigers having only five players, Anna Zurek won her No. 6 singles match by default.
Tech's No. 1 doubles team of Zurek and Barnard as well as the No. 2 doubles team of ten Dolle and de Wit both won 8-0 over their Grambling State counterpart.
Tech improved to 7-4 on the season and will next travel to Hawai'i for three matches. The first is against Chaminade on April 1 at 6 p.m. CT. Tech will then face Idaho on April 2 before playing Hawai'i on April 3.
