Tech Signee Named MVP in Arkansas All-Star Game

June 27, 2011

RUSTON - Louisiana Tech signee Whitney Frazier led the West team to a 75-49 win over the East in the Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star girls' basketball game last week.

Frazier scored a game-high 19 points for the West to earn the Most Outstanding Player honors for the game.

"I just played hard. I could've done a little better in the first quarter, but overall I feel I did pretty well," Frazier said. "(The experience) was fun. We had a lot of chemistry. I love some of them. It was no jealousy and we all got along well and had a good time. It was just a great experience. I had fun."

"It feels really good being that it came in an all-star game," Frazier said. "I had a step back 3-pointer at the end of the first quarter (that got the crowd very excited)."

Another Louisiana Tech signee, Savanna Langston, played on the East squad. The Parkers Chapel graduate also had a great time.

"It was really fun. It was fun meeting people I've played with and against during the summer and in the regular season," Langston said. "It was fun getting to know then and working with them for a week. It was all just a great honor. I didn't play as well as I wanted to but I had a great time."

Frazier and Langston will be two of five newcomers joining head coach Teresa Weatherspoon and the Lady Techster program this fall.
