Bulldogs Game Notes
RUSTON, La. - Coming off of its first win of the 2012 season, Louisiana Tech heads to Arkansas for two mid-week games against UAPB on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. and UALR on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 3 p.m.
The Bulldogs took the series finale against UT-Arlington this past weekend as senior first baseman Alex Williams hit two long home runs on Sunday.
Shortstop Ryan Gebhardt goes into Tuesday's game riding a 20-game hit streak and led all Bulldog players with six hits in the opening series.
Redshirt freshman Chris Sadberry gets the start on Tuesday vs. the Golden Lions. The southpaw started two games for the Bulldogs in 2011 before receiving a redshirt, going 0-1 with a 7.32 ERA in the two games.
Arkansas-Little Rock swept its opening day series against Arkansas-Pine Bluff as the Trojans scored 67 runs in the three-game series.
Trojan pitchers struck out 26 hitters and posted a combined ERA of 1.00.
Louisiana Tech and UAPB last played in 2007 when the Bulldogs swept a two-game series from the Golden Lions, 18-0 and 22-3, respectively.
The Bulldogs last played UALR on March 1, 2011 when the Trojans defeated Tech 8-5. Wednesday's bout with Arkansas-Little Rock will mark the 68th meeting between the two programs and Tech 48-19 all-time against the Trojans.
