RENO - Louisiana Tech will conclude regular season action Saturday when the Lady Techsters travel to Reno to face the Nevada Wolf Pack at 6 p.m. CT at the Lawlor Events Center.
The Lady Techsters (15-13, 8-5 WAC) are coming off a 65-62 loss at Fresno State Saturday night while the Wolf Pack (6-22, 2-11) defeated New Mexico State 68-56 for only their second Western Athletic Conference win this season.
Regardless of the outcome in Saturday's game, the Lady Techsters have wrapped up the No. 3 seed in the upcoming WAC Tournament set for March 7-10 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Tech will face the loser of the Hawaii vs. Idaho game scheduled for Saturday in Moscow.
In the first meeting of the year between the two teams, the Lady Techsters defeated the Wolf Pack 77-63 in Ruston on Feb. 2 as Whitney Frazier recorded a double double with 14 points and 11 rebounds and Jasmine Bendolph added 12 points and 15 assists.
Bendolph and backcourt teammate Whitney Jones are coming off solid performances in Tech's loss at Fresno State as the duo combined for 39 points and 16 rebounds in the game. Bendolph leads the Western Athletic Conference averaging 6.0 assists per game.
Nevada boasts three players averaging double figures led by Kate Kevorken (15.8 ppg, 6.3 rpg), Kayla Williams (12.7 ppg, 7.1 rpg) and Chanelle Brennan (10.0 ppg). However, defensively, Nevada has struggled this year, allowing 75.0 points per game - which ranks last in the WAC.
With a win and a New Mexico State loss at Fresno State, the Wolf Pack would move up to the No. 7 seed for the league tournament.
