LA Tech Head Coach Skip Holtz

On the overall performance :
"Really proud of this team, this was a good win for us. To come on the road and get into conference play, to come here against a really well-coached Dan MacCarney team and the staff. To find a way to come here and start out a little bit slow, especially offensively, but yet we get our feet on the ground and the defense to do what they did. The game that they played, and the offense the way Cody Sokol and those receivers started getting on the same page a little bit with what they were doing."

On North Texas' scheme against Kenneth Dixon:
"It took us a couple series to get a beat on what they were doing. They more or less said Kenneth Dixon wasn't gonna beat them, they wouldn't gonna let him run with the ball, they ran their safeties downhill. I think on one of the touchdown passes late in the game the free safety's about three yards away from the line of scrimmage. They were just all rolling down and they were keying on him and it made some really open plays on the perimeter and I thought Cody [Sokol] did a really nice job of executing."

On the defensive performance:
"This one, great game by the defense... The way they played, really proud of what these did to come in here and get a win. [North Texas] scored again, just like last week, 14 points late that doesn't really resemble the type of game that this defense played, basically holding them to seven points. I thought they did a great job."

On the team's improvement:
"I said we were gonna find out what kind of team we're gonna have. I thought that we did a really nice job, the way the O-line's protecting, the way the team is gelling because right now we have so many new faces, we don't know how good we can be. Let's just go out every game and find out where we are. Through three games, I'm really proud of the progress we've made. But we gotta get better and we gotta continue to challenge ourselves to compete against ourselves. It's not about an expectation level high or low, it's about the expectations we have about ourselves."
