Sept. 8, 2014 RUSTON - Former Louisiana Tech goalkeeper Caitlin Updyke will take part in a documentary piece which will air on Tuesday, Sept. 9 on BBC World Service radio.
The documentary entitled `The Future of Women's Football' is being produced/presented by Yvonne Macken. For the segment on one of the world's largest international broadcasts, Macken chats with young players from Trinidad and Tobago, Iceland, Brazil, Japan, UK and the United States, one of which is Updyke who is currently playing professionally for IA Akranes in Iceland.
In the piece, she addresses how women's football is one of the fastest growing sports, with over 30 million women worldwide participating, yet it is struggling with sustainability.
Also part of the program is Alana Lum York from Trinidad who lettered for LA Tech and head coach Kevin Sherry in 2007.
