Dec. 28, 2015 RUSTON ââ'¬" After a nice homecoming to his home state of Florida, Louisiana Tech's Alex Hamilton was chosen as the Louisiana Player of the Week by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.
The senior poured in a game-high 26 points in helping hand Florida Gulf Coast just their 10th home loss since the 2012-13 season. In doing so, he set a new career high with 12 made field goals (11-of-13 on two-pointers).
Ten of his 26 points came in the final 10 minutes of the game as the Bulldogs found themselves down six before pulling off a 66-63 come-from-behind road victory.
The guard also added five rebounds, three assists and one steal in the win.
This is the second such honor of the season for Hamilton.
