RUSTON - Louisiana Tech forward Tiara Davenport has been named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week following her performances in the Lady Techsters road wins at Florida Atlantic and FIU this weekend.

Davenport averaged 10.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game to help pace Louisiana Tech in a pair of conference road wins. The true freshman shot 57 percent (8-of-14) from the field, including a 5-of-7 performance at FIU.

Davenport recorded her first career double-double with 13 points and career-high 10 rebounds, along with a career-best three blocks, in Tech's 79-56 win over the Panthers Feb. 14. The Duncanville, Texas, native also added six points and four rebounds in a career-high 30 minutes to help the Lady Techsters in a come-from-behind win at Florida Atlantic on Feb. 12.

Davenport will lead the Lady Techsters into Thursday night's home game against Charlotte.
