POSTGAME NOTES

- Louisiana Tech captains were Ryan Higgins, Trent Taylor, Lloyd Grogan and Xavier Woods.

- With Jonathan Barnes 25 yard field goal, Louisiana Tech has scored on its opening possession in all 13 games of the 2016 season.

- The 41 points in the first quarter were the most in a Conference USA Championship game. The 65 points in the first half were the most in a half in Conference USA Championship history.

- With the loss, LA Tech still leads the all-time series 4-3.

- Louisiana Tech is now 0-2 in Conference USA Championship games.

- The 14-point victory by the Hilltoppers is the largest margin of victory for WKU in the series.

- The home team remains undefeated in the LA Tech ââ'¬" WKU series.

OFFENSIVE SCORING

- Louisiana Tech's first offensive touchdown came on a six yard reception by Carlos Henderson with 1:34 remaining in the first quarter.

- Jarred Craft got in the end zone on a five yard reception with 11:06 remaining in the second quarter.

- Kam McKnight snuck behind the WKU secondary and found himself 15 yards beyond the deepest Hilltopper. The 53-yard touchdown reception from Higgins with 13:15 remaining in the third quarter cut the deficit to 38-34.

- On fourth and goal from the one-yard-line, Kam McKnight rushed in for the score, putting the Bulldogs ahead 41-38 with 10:17 remaining in the third quarter.

OFFENSE

- Trent Taylor became the Conference USA single-season record holder for receptions in a season with 115 receptions.

- Conner Smith reeled in 56 receiving yards, which is a career high for the senior in receiving yards.

- Kam McKnight scored two touchdowns in a game for the third time this season.

- Kam McKnight registered a new career high with 57 receiving yards. His previous high was 56 last season against UTSA.

- The 53-yard touchdown reception was the longest of Kam McKnight's career.

- Ryan Higgins tossed three touchdowns in the game, giving him 37 for the season which ranks second in school history.

- Trent Taylor registered more than 100 yards receiving for the 19th time in his career which ranks second in Louisiana Tech history.

- Carlos Henderson surpassed 200 receiving yards for the third time this season. He is the only player in college football to achieve that feat.

- Ryan Higgins topped 500 receiving for the second time this season. He is one of just two players in college football to achieve the feat.

- Ryan Higgins now has 4,208 passing yards on the season which ranks second in Louisiana Tech history.

- Trent Taylor has 1,570 yards receiving this season which ranks third in LA Tech history for yards in a single season.

- Carlos Henderson has racked up 2,207 all-purpose yards this season which ranks second in LA Tech history.

- Ryan Higgins has totaled 4,492 yards of total offense this season which ranks second in Louisiana Tech history.

- Trent Taylor has registered a reception in 40 consecutive games, which ranks 10th in the nation.

DEFENSE

- L'Jarius Sneed became just the second player in Conference USA history to register a pick six in a Conference USA Championship game.

- The interception was the first career interception for L'Jarius Sneed.

- Brandon Durman tied a career-high with eight total tackles.

- L'Jarius Sneed entered the contest with eight total tackles on the year, he registered six tackles in Conference USA Championship alone.

DEFENSIVE SCORES

- L'Jarius Sneed jumped an out route pass from Mike White and returned the interception 48 yards for a score.

SPECIAL TEAMS

- Barnes connected on three field goals in the contest, pushing his career total to 54 which moves him into third in Louisiana Tech history

- Barnes is now responsible for 131 points this season which ranks first in Louisiana Tech history for single-season scoring by a kicker.

SPECIAL TEAMS SCORES

- Jonathan Barnes connected from 25 yards out to put LA Tech on the scoreboard with 10:18 remaining in the first quarter.

- With 8:26 remaining in the second quarter Jonathan Barnes connected on a 36 yard field goal.

- Jonathan Barnes nailed a 24-yard field goal to cut the LA Tech deficit to 48-44 with 14:08 remaining in the fourth quarter.
