DENTON, Texas ÃÆ'¢Ã¢'¬" Louisiana Tech had its four-match winning streak come to an end on Saturday evening as the Lady Techsters fell 4-1 to North Texas at the Waranch Tennis Complex.

For the first time this dual season, LA Tech (4-2) lost the doubles point. There were few breaks in singles either with league foe North Texas (2-4) claiming two of the three in three sets.

"I am proud of how hard the team fought today," head coach Chad Camper said. "We did not play our best tennis and you cannot do that against a quality program like North Texas. We needed some breaks to go our way, but it was not our day."

The duo of Jazmin Britos and Marta Sramkova won 6-3 on court two, but the Mean Green got the first point of the match with victories at No. 1 and No. 3.

NT added to its lead on court five with a straight sets win. However, the Techsters countered as Sramkova won 6-0, 6-4 over Alexis Thoma at No. 4 to pull the team to within one.

Both Alexandra Starkova on court one and Alba Escalona Perny on court six were able to push their matches to a third set, but both players could not complete the comebacks.

The remaining two matches were also in a third set before being stopped.

There is no rest for LA Tech as they return home for a doubleheader on Sunday versus Alcorn State and Grambling State. First serve is set for 3 p.m. at the LA Tech Tennis Complex.
