RUSTON ââ'¬" In the league's first installment in announcing the Preseason All-Conference USA Team, Louisiana Tech sophomore DaQuan Bracey was one of 10 players selected in a vote by the conference head coaches.

Bracey looks to improve on what was a stellar freshman season that saw him become just the fourth Bulldog in program history and the first since 2012 to be named Conference Freshman of the Year.

The point guard had no trouble adapting to the speed of the college game when thrust into the starting lineup in game seven. He ended up starting every game the rest of the way, setting the C-USA and program record for most assists in a single season with 193.

His average of 5.8 dimes per game ranked in the top 20 in the country while his +3.51 assist/turnover ratio was the best of any freshman in the nation and the best of any Bulldog in school history.

Not only could the Baltimore, Maryland native dish the rock, he could score it too. He averaged 9.1 points per game while posting 13 double-digit scoring contests, including a career-high 21 points in a road win at Old Dominion.

The 2017-18 season tips off on Nov. 10 when LA Tech plays host to UT Tyler.
