On Sunday afternoon Louisiana Tech (35-16, 16-11 C-USA) capped off another incredible season at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park, completing the three-game sweep over Marshall (25-26, 12-15 C-USA) with a 6-4, come-from-behind victory.

In what has been then case all season long, Raphael Gladu came through when it mattered most, delivering a game-winning two-RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning to propel the Bulldogs to victory and extend his hitting streak to 16 games.

With the win, Louisiana Tech now sits in a tie with Florida Atlantic for third place in Conference USA and clinched a berth in the 2017 The First, A National Banking Association Conference USA Baseball Championship which will be held from May 24-28 in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Marshall Boggs collected a team-high three hits in the win, while also scoring two runs. Jordan Washam, Brent Diaz and Dalton Skelton all picked up multiple hits, while Skelton drove in a couple of runs on his two doubles.

Louisiana Tech will end the season on an eight-game home winning streak for the second consecutive season. Last year the Bulldogs ended the year on a 10-game home winning streak.

Over the past two seasons, Louisiana Tech is 45-12 overall at J.C. Love Field. In eight games against top-25 opponents at the Love Shack, the Bulldogs are an impressive 7-1.

LA Tech got the scoring started early as Skelton put the Bulldogs on the board with a two-out, two-run double down the right field line in the bottom of the second inning. An inning later, an RBI-double from Brent Diaz had Louisiana Tech ahead 3-0 after just three frames.

Marshall got a run back in the top of the fourth and did the rest of their damage in a three-run top of the sixth inning, which propelled the Thundering Herd to a 4-3 lead after five and a half innings.

The Bulldogs, however, wasted no time getting a couple of those runs back in the bottom of the sixth. After two quick outs, it appeared the Bulldogs might go quietly in their half of the sixth, but Boggs got the rally started with a two-out double off of the left field wall. Consecutive walks to Skelton and Cody Daigle loaded the bases with two outs for the always-dangerous Gladu.

Gladu singled up the middle to bring home Boggs and Skelton, allowing Louisiana Tech to retake the lead at 5-4.

LA Tech added some insurance in the bottom of the eighth inning as Daigle scored on an RBI-single from Jordan Washam.

Matt Miller got the start for Louisiana Tech and tossed five innings, striking out four Marshall batters and allowing just three runs.

Kent Hasler, who was credited with his fifth win of the season, pitched the final 3.2 innings giving up just two hits and striking out three.

It will be a short week for the Diamond 'Dogs who will now hit the road for a three-game set at Middle Tennessee which will conclude the regular season. The series will begin on Thursday night at 6 p.m. with the game being broadcast on ESPN 97.7 and streamed on CUSA.TV.
