The Cowboys took the previous contest earlier this season, defeating Tech, 8-3, at the Love Shack on February 18, yet the Bulldogs have taken seven of the eight prior matchups over McNeese.

The 'Dogs took a series win the last time they played in Lake Charles, outscoring the Cowboys 32-8 through the first two games of the series. A massive 21-5 victory to open the series was followed with a weekend-clinching 11-3 win.

Sophomore first baseman Trey Hawsey has been one of CUSA's top hitters thus far this season, leading the league in total bases and sitting among the top 5 through April 19 in base hits and home runs. He leads the team with seven three-hit games and 18 multi-hit games this season, and his 10-game hitting streak is tied with Colby Lunsford for the longest this season.

7 of Hawsey's 8 career three-hit games have been recorded this year, and has 30 career multi-hit games after posting 3 over the weekend in Kennesaw, passing Colton Coates for the most multi-hit games among active Bulldogs. His .323 average leads the team and ranks 15th in the conference.

The Cowboys enter Tuesday's matchup coming off a series loss on the road to Texas A&M – Corpus Christi. McNeese took a 9-4 win the series opener before falling 7-6 on Saturday and 9-5 on Sunday.

Danny Barbero had a 3-5 day at the plate on Friday with two doubles, a homer and four RBI while DJ Pinkerton added three runs driven in on a triple and a two-run homer. Eric Nachtsheim earned the winning decision after tossing 3.2 innings of shutout baseball, allowing just two hits and fanning nine hitters.

Matt Stancliff leads McNeese with a .329 average, 39 runs, 48 hits, 77 total bases and a perfect 18-18 on stolen base attempts. He is the only Cowboy with multiple triples this season. Barbero is batting .314 with team highs in doubles (11), home runs (7), RBIs (39), OPS (1.007), slugging (.547) and OBP (.460).
