Week 3 - ULM Get Acrobat Reader

RUSTON ââ'¬" After opening the season with five matches in 10 days, the Louisiana Tech women's soccer team has had a week off to rest and prepare for its next opponent in I-20 foe ULM which they take on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the ULM Soccer Complex.

The offensive flood gates finally opened up in game five of the season with five goals after combining to net only three goals in the four first matches.

LA Tech (3-1-1) ended up downing Mississippi Valley State by a final score of 5-1, keeping the Lady Techsters undefeated on the road this season with three victories and one draw.

Seven different players have scored so far, led by junior striker Mylene Roy-Ouellet who has two goals. Seniors Kailee Hervey and Nomvula Kgoale have each scored a goal as well as sophomore Jenna Dages.

The remaining goals have come via the freshmen ââ'¬" Amber Posthauer, Lorena Lopez and Elizabeth Doll ââ'¬" who each scored against the Devilettes.

Meanwhile, ULM (0-5) has had a rough start to its season, dropping all five matches. The Warhawks have been outscored by a combined 14-1 with the lone goal coming by Erika Weist.

The season has been a surprise given how ULM played last year under head coach Keyton Wheelock who was named the Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year after leading the team to a 7-8-3 overall record and a 4-4-2 mark in the SBC.

The Warhawks earned their first ever trip to the SBC Tournament as finishing tied for fourth in the standings.

LA Tech leads the all-time series over ULM, 2-1. The Warhawks won the first ever meeting back in 2007, but the Lady Techsters have won back-to-back matches by scores of 2-1 and 3-0. This will mark the third straight year the two teams separated by just 30 minutes will face off on the pitch.
